SPECIALTY: Delayed surface marker buoys – PADI

SPECIALTY: Delayed surface marker buoys – PADI

Have you ever seen a diver struggling with a buoy and reel at the safety stop? Or even worse: a diver popping up to the surface without a buoy? Make sure that diver isn’t YOU! This is the course you have never thought about taking but that will greatly increase a very specific and useful skill and most importantly: improve your safety.
Surface marker buoys allow us to mark a zone to safely conduct underwater cartography or search and recover actions. It’s an important signal for boat captains and diver safety and they provide a visual reference when ascending from a dive. During 2 dives you will learn the correct technique of using surface marker buoys (SMB) and deploying delayed surface marker buoys (DSMB).
