DAN: Diving first aid – DFA PRO
The diving first aid course is aimed at divers or non-divers who have safety at heart. This course includes a total of 5 DAN categories. First aid for hazardous marine life injuries, Neurological Assessment, Emergency oxygen provider, Basic Life Support – CPR and First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens. There is not always just one problem leading to an accident. This is especially true on dive sites. This is why it is important to be prepared for all eventualities and to recognize all facets of an incident. In this course you will learn how to handle multiple problems with confidence, when to apply particular knowledge and how to manage available resources.

- Creating an emergency assistance plan
- Identification, assembly and disassembly of oxygen equipment
- Using demand inhalator valve and non-rebreather mask
- Using a bag-valve mask for manually triggered ventilation
Basic Life Support – CPR aid first aid:
- Assessment
- Correct positioning
- Newest CPR techniques
- Use of defibrillator (AED)
- Management of shock
- Management of obstructed airways
- Bleeding control
- Wound management incl. bandaging and splinting
Neurological assessment:
- F-A-S-T assessment
- Recording a history
- Monitoring of vital signs
- Evaluation of cranial nerve function
- Evaluation of mental function
- Evaluation of motor function
- Evaluation of coordination and balance
First aid for hazardous marine life injuries:
- Assessment of the situation
- Creating an emergency assistance plan
- Treatment of injuries caused by venomous marine life
- Treatment of severe allergic reactions
- Shock treatment
- External bleeding control
- Techniques of pressure immobilization
