FULL CAVE DIVER – TDI

Courses for diving in overhead environment such as caves are divided into 3 steps: cavern diver – intro to cave diver – cave diver. Each step must be completed before moving on to the next stage but of course you can do all 3 courses one right after the other. It really depends on your available time and confort level.
Cave divers are allowed to dive beyond the penetration limits of cavern diving and follow complex navigation patterns inside the cave.

You will learn about

Equipment needed

Cave divers that want to explore every facet of cave diving and not be limited to the main line or rule of 1/6th

  • Be at least 18 years old (15 years with a special parental approval)
  • Be a certified TDI intro to cave diver or equivalent
  • Cave diving policies
  • Awareness and proper judgement
  • Gas management, rule of 1/3rds
  • Navigation rules inside the cave
  • Use of jump spools and markers
  • Psychology
  • Physiology of breathing and stress
  • Choosing your equipment and its correct set up
  • Communication in the cave
  • Cave environment and conservation
  • Emergency procedures in the cave
  • Accident analysis
  • Complete cave dive equipment (double tank or sidemount setting with long hose)
  • 1 primary and 2 secondary light sources
  • Primary and safety reel
  • Jump spools
  • Wet notes or slate cave arrows, 3 cookie markers
